Misery
Tara found herself in a world of darkness, where the only light came from the flickering flames of candles that seemed to be scattered randomly throughout the room. The air was thick with the scent of old books, and the sound of her own footsteps echoed through the cavernous space.
As she wandered deeper into the darkness, Tara felt a growing sense of unease, as if she was being watched by unseen eyes. She tried to shake off the feeling, telling herself that it was just her imagination, but the sense of impending doom only grew stronger.
Eventually, Tara came to a small room that seemed to be carved out of the very rock itself. In the center of the room stood a solitary figure, dressed in a tattered cloak and holding a staff that glowed with an eerie green light.
Without warning, the figure began to speak, its voice a low and menacing growl. "You have come seeking answers, but you will find only misery," it said.
Tara tried to turn and run, but she found herself rooted to the spot, unable to move. The figure continued to speak, its words like a cold wind that chilled her to the bone.
"You have lost something precious, and you will never find it again. You will wander the world forever, searching for a happiness that will never come."
Tara screamed in terror, but the figure merely chuckled, its laugh like the sound of bones rattling in an ancient tomb.
As Tara fled back into the darkness, she could hear the figure's laughter echoing after her, filling her with a sense of dread and despair.
In the days that followed, Tara found that the figure's words had come true. She was consumed by a sense of misery that she could not shake, and no matter where she went or what she did, she could never find the happiness she so desperately craved.
And so she wandered, lost and alone in a world of darkness, haunted by the memory of the figure and its ominous prophecy.
